Copic Challenge 2

Hello Friends
I had a great day today! First I taught a class at our LSS (Eclectica Scrapbooking and Stamps) with a fun group of ladies! We did the background you see on my card share today... a slightly modified version of Gesso Chic. The card the class finished is a little different than mine, but I tried to get close with the supplies I had at home. The butterfly I colored with Copics-B05, B02, YG23 for the Copic Color Challenge this week... and added a touch of stickles to catch some light. I had a great afternoon and it has been snowing in Memphis. It has snowed like 3 times this winter! It actually feels like winter.... and the kids love it! Even our chihuahua, Mojo, loves the snow! I'm hoping for more art time tomorrow!! Kimm

Butterfly Beauty

Hello Friends
I want to share this butterfly card today. I intended for the design to be simple as too much stamping or layers would compete with the strong orange colors. The main image is by Inkadinkado and the layered strip is Cottoned color technique (Technique Junkies Newsletter Apr. 07). All coloring is with Copic Sketch markers: Y11, Y17, YR04, R17, E47, BV000.
Have a warm, beautiful day!

Framed Inchie Art

Hello Friends
Last week I was playing with some Inchie art with the goal of creating a framed piece to teach at a class. I finished this piece over the weekend. I decided to stick with this for my class. I love the artistic marriage of distressing with a fresher, crisp look! The coloring on the inchie images is with Copic Markers.
If you are local, I hope you'll sign up for class on March 21st!

Foolin around an inch or two

Hello Friends
I am trying out something different today using a bunch of scrap pieces. The scrap pieces are 6 different techniques: wax paper resist, terrazone tones, painted pigments, angels breath, floating pearls and brayered bands. I distressed edges and on some squares brushed some crackle paint here and there. The inchies are 'plus size' inchies since the underlayer was punched with a 1 1/8" square punch. I like the mix of metallic embellishments.... I didn't want everything to match.

Valentine Pansies

I colored this pretty wreath of pansies the other day and finally got to assemble it into a finished card today. The stamp belongs to a friend and I forgot to note the company who makes it, sorry about that.
When I first moved down south to Memphis from Ohio, one of the first things that shocked me were the pansies that people planted in the winter. In the winter! I just couldn't believe that. Planting flowers outdoors for winter was a foreign concept to me. Well now I know, it just isn't that cold here and even if it's cold for a couple days, it won't last. And the pansies seem to like the cool weather. So it seems totally appropriate to share pansies for Valentines!

copic colors used- V01, V09, B00, BV04, Y11, Y17, YG17
Hope you enjoy

Copic Practice 2

More practice work. This little bunny is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. Copic colors I used were: W1, N4, YR00, RV02 and RV09. I do love how the shading on this cutie turned out. Everything else is pretty basic.
Well at least I made it into a card this time;)

Copic Practice

Goodmorning Friends!
I'm practicing my copic blending techniques today! I love this stamp by Inkadinkado for practice work. I think I'm going to start keeping a journal with images (and the list of markers used) so this one won't be finished into a card.
The blending technique that is working best for me so far is marker to marker. Shadows around images are my tough spot and I have to keep working on that.
Off to find another image to practice!
