Technique by Design for October

Welcome to the October Technique by Design blog hop!
I've loved the projects featured with this sketch!! If you just arrived you may want to start the blog hop from Technique Junkies blog so can see all the inspiration the design team as put together for you. Thanks to Beth for sharing her great art work!
My card using the technique by design sketch was inspired by crisp green apples... the tart apples that make the best warm apple pie. Layer 'A' is a section of Antiqued Glimmers and Layer 'B' is Faded Texture from the current TJ issue. Once the section of faded texture was dry I did highlight the lettering from the embossing folder with walnut stain distress ink. I really wanted some of the fun autumn words to show! Playing with techniques is so relaxing and I hope you are inspired.
Technique by Design challenge – every TJ member who puts a Design Challenge card on the TJ yahoo group or sends it to Pat Huntoon will be entered into a drawing for awesome prizes. Friends, remember to comment on Pat's blog and create a card of your own sharing the link to your project. While you are there let Pat know you are ready to order CD 8 too.
Your next stop is at Artful Observations to see some yummy autumn artwork by Cathy.
And Happy TJ Anniversary to Pat and all the technique junkies!!
Enjoy

Technique by Design Blog Hop

Hello Friends... and welcome to my stop on the Technique by Design Blog Hop!! I'm so thrilled Pat Huntoon started publishing the Technique by Design feature into the newsletter. I'm finding many fun and creative ideas for all the many fabulous techniques published over the years! I hope to inspire you along with all the other TJ designers.

For my card I incorporated technique pieces that had orange and yellow tones. I wanted warm and sunny to show off the main daffodil image.
Panel A is the Sanded Core'dinations- current issue.
Panels B and D are both Painted Pigments technique (Aug. 08 issue) however panel D I ran through the cuttlebug and highlighted the embossing with stickles glitter glue. I liked the touch of pink mixed with the orange and yellow inks:)
Panel C and E are Spritzed Copic Stone (Dec. 09 issue) using Y11, Y38 and YR15 copic sketch markers. My main image is colored with copics.

Don't miss the opportunity to participate in the challenge/contest! Pat will have awesome products from vendors that YOU could win!!
What you need to do:
1. Follow the sketch from the April/May 2010 Technique Junkies Newsletter...Technique by Design sketch is a great way to incorporate technique backgrounds into your cards. Coordinate by colors or mix and match different techniques on your card with a stunning effect! If you make extra backgrounds when trying out the techniques, you will love being able to use them for the sketch. Note: in order to qualify for the drawing, at least two different TJ techniques must be used on the card.
2. Post a link to Pat's Blog
3. The deadline to the challenge is MAY 15.
Your next stop on the Technique by Design blog hop is no other than the technique junkie queen herself... Pat Huntoon!
I love your comments... but to be eligible to enter the contest entries must be linked from Pat Huntoons blog!
